Welcome to Shuck 'em Up Oyster Company! We're a family owned, Mother and daughters operated farm in Aransas Bay out of Rockport, Texas. Follow along to see our journey in farming sustainably grown oysters!
A study led by The Nature Conservancy (TNC) found that 85% of oyster reefs globally have been lost due to the impacts of climate change, hurricanes, disease and changes in freshwater flows. While just 20-50% of original oyster reefs remain along the Gulf Coast, the Gulf is considered the best hope for restoring healthy oyster populations.

Scientific Name: Crassostrea Virginica
Common Name: Eastern Oyster
Length: 2.5-3.5 inches harvest size, but they can grow up to 8 inches long!
Lifespan: Can be harvested from about 9 months old, but can live to be 20 years (yes years!) old.
Harvest location: Aransas bay, Rockport Texas, TX-29
Grow out method: Floating cages, it keeps them in the nutrient packed upper water column.
